3 Persuasive Essay Topics

3 Persuasive Essay TopicsWhile these are all excellent and exciting topics for students to write about, there is a fundamental difference between the best and the worst. If you are thinking about writing an essay on persuasion, but are afraid of the subject matter or just don't like the topic, then try one of the three persuasion essay topics below. They're all considered extremely effective by professional marketing consultants, who are unbiased in their opinions. The most powerful persuasion essay topic is, of course, the topic of the letter of recommendation, in which the student submits a request for the writer to look up his/her academic career in school, in a college or university that the student wants to attend. This is also known as an 'emerging market assignment,' which means that if a student is considering going to a school, university, or college, he/she should write a letter of recommendation asking that the writer see that it is the most appropriate choice for the stude nt. Since the teacher will be familiar with the student's professional dealings, he/she will be more likely to suggest a particular school, thus making this a powerful application of an emerging market opportunity.Another highly powerful persuasive essay topic is the topic of network marketing, which includes the content of the 'website' that is provided to a prospect. It's often also referred to as internet marketing, because the strategy behind network marketing and internet marketing is the same. The user is enticed to join because of the supposed 'easy money,' or the opportunity to find an outstanding career in a specific field. The advantage to being targeted by internet marketing is that it provides access to a much larger audience, and thus makes this a more compelling essay topic for this marketing topic. There are some other particularly powerful persuasive essay topics, but the three mentioned above are the three that have the most power and appeal. Once you have decided wh ich of these three will be the best fit for your particular topic, it's time to brainstorm on other ideas. Here are a few more ideas to consider. You could change the topic completely. Or you could work on three or four different topics. You could try to write an essay on hypnosis, which would be an incredibly powerful persuasion essay topic. If you did, and the rest of your classmates were calling you 'lunatic,' 'psychic,' or 'psychic-reading,' then you could create controversy by writing a powerful essay based on something new and innovative. There are no rules here and you'll just have to do what you feel is best for your essay. You could write an essay on surfing, which is another idea that is gaining popularity among students who are writing or teaching English as a second language. Surf schools are currently in crisis as they are struggling to keep up with the increased demand for surfing schools. Yet, surf schools will continue to thrive if they can stay on top of the increasin g need for surfers, and this includes giving students an excellent education, one of the main tenets of surfing schools. All these are just some examples of the many opportunities you could explore in your unique persuasive essay topic. Be sure to let your creativity run wild, and research these topics and write about them. Why Are Black Boys Failing in School - 4668 Words

McCalip, Quiana ENGL 102 D01 Professor R. Mullen Long Research Rough Draft Why Are The Black Males Failing Within American Educational System? What Can We Do? It is easy to point the finger but harder to find a solution as to why the black male child is failing in school. There are several crucial factors that contribute to this epidemic including, parents are not communicating with the teachers, the socioeconomic status of the child s family, and the father s absence in the child s life. Each of these topics intertwine with one another and is preventing a race of young men who will not be given the chance to excel in life. The worst teachers are the parents. Teaching starts at home from the time the†¦show more content†¦It is instilled in most parents to defend their young with that being said, parents should listen to both sides of the story before assuming that the teacher was wrong in their actions. Parents+ Teachers= A successful student. Another problem with parents not teaming up with teachers is the fear of being c alled a â€Å"bad parent†. Most parents of black students do not regularly attend teacher/ parent conferences. These conferences are held usually between the sixth and eight week of school and during these meetings parents get a chance to voice any concerns they might have as well as the teachers suggestions. (Cushman 11). One might ask how can a parent send their child to school without ever meeting the teacher? There are several problems associated with black parents and the school system which I discuss in depth later in the paper. Parents just do not place enough emphasis on their child s education and in turn the child doesn t either. There is no way that a child could fail if their parents are in continuous communication with his teacher, yes, during these times there is simply not enough hours in the day but if a parent does not care about their child s future how can expect anyone else to?† Black children are falling farther behind and are victims of an educatio nal system that is failing them.† ( Muhammad 2). Cosmetic surgery free essay sample

Give an outline of the various views on plastic surgery for teenagers which are presented in texts 1 and 2. In text 1 Valerie’s point of view about plastic surgery, is that even though you are feeling bad about a particular part of your body, it is still a part of you. It would be nice if she could have a nose that wasn’t too big and hooked. Even though she fantasized about getting her nose done, she has never considered this option seriously. Valerie says that time has changed because at the time, plastic surgery was just beginning to gain steam, and most of the time teenagers weren’t on-board. According to the American Society of Plastic surgeons, 330. 000 teenagers, most of them females, have got plastic surgery. American teens are constantly making sure to be attractive, and especially when they are surrounded by images of beautiful men and woman that lend a hand. Isn’t it too terrible to find lots of â€Å"me† in the streets? Furthermore, society judges beauty wrongly, even though society has always valued beauty, There are still a twisted value of beauty, which is utterly focusing on appearance. Research by Honigman, Phillips and Castle supports that Since most people, after undergoing surgeries, will look pretty and attractive, those who have not undergo such surgery would be judge by the others ,treat them as not beautiful enough. Those people being despised somehow will have cosmetic surgery. It will cause a vicious cycle at all. Moreover, beauty cannot be artificial. Such cosmetic surgery phenomenon is obviously twisting value to our society as our citizens are increasingly judging others only by their appearance, meanwhile ignoring inner beauty in them. Also, cosmetic surgery cost extremely high, not to mention the possible side-effects and risk brought by cosmetic surgery may have on our physical bodies and mental health. An inevitable part of cosmetic surgery is making holes and cut off the skins, and that will leave you a lifelong scar. It is  an ironic fact for cosmetic surgery which promote beauty. Then, when the skins is cut, internal tissues and body cell will expose to unclean matter, and there is a chance that our body will be infected with bacteria. More seriously, it will cause your death. Moreover, the outcome are never guaranteed, and surgeries sometimes don’t go as planned. For example, a breast augmentation might leave you feeling too large or not large enough than expectation. This may need more cosmetic surgeries to fix the problems. Then, you will keep undergoing cosmetic surgeries one by one. Most importantly, cosmetic surgeries are high risk. A simple mistake will have already become a surgery failure. Take a famous case Jocelyn Wildenstein as an example, she failed her surgery once. Doctor remediation are all useless, and doctor assessment would not allow her to undergo one more surgery. Therefore, she has to live a whole life with a monster face. I would say this is a life gambling. However, cosmetic surgery is not bad at all. Cosmetic surgery can benefit some types of people. In fact, every of us aren’t flawless. Someone may have large area of freckle on their face; someone may have inborn cleft lip . It seems just little thing, but these flaws may cause mocked by the others. Cosmetic surgery also helps those with inborn flaw and those who have different types of accidents. For example, it allows a baby with cleft lip to drink normally; and its helps someone reconstruct skin who get burnt in a fire accident. From above, it seems that cosmetic surgery really benefits in medical function. At this moment, cosmetic surgery has already shifted from the superficial matter of becoming beauty to the matter of whether one can bring back a normal life. However, someone would say that they undergo cosmetic surgery for different reasons, such as: gain confidence in themselves, employment opportunities, and our interpersonal relationship. I think they are just having a wrong way, which is cosmetic surgery to achieve different goals. Someone’s sense of self, including confidence, should not depend on their appearance. Because appearance are not the most important thing. Being a capable person, having a good personality, developing working ability would be the key to  boost confidence, improve interpersonal relationship and ensure job security. That means it is impossible to buy sense of self. Last but not least, what can we do to reduce this kind of misuse of cosmetic surgery? Media actually influences a lot. Advertisements on TV or on newspaper make us believe physical attractive beauty is very important in everywhere. However, value of beauty always change from Ancient China to modern society. Fat equals to beauty in Tang Dynasty, so we called Yang Guifei as a beauty at that time, but we will only call Yang Guifei as a fat women now. According to Kahlil Gibran, beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart. We cannot undergo cosmetic surgery to change our face each time when value of beauty changed. The outer beauty looked with eyes doesnt last forever. Therefore, I think everyone should not put appearance as top priority. They better build up their own style, like dressing, without caring how people judge them. Because you are just being your own. Finally, I think cosmetic surgery is not acceptable to me. But only when the condition that appearance had seriously affected his daily life, it is acceptable to me to have cosmetic surgery. Undergoing cosmetic surgery for the pursuit of beauty is undesirable because it is harmful to our body. Health is the most important thing in our life. We better put health as top priority. We should know that appearances can be deceptive. No one will have a perfect appearance, so they should not focus on simple appearance, but concentrate on our personalities of being capable, good person. We should all be proud of ourselves because everyone in the world is unique. We should not live for following others step, like copying pop star style. Lastly, I think everyone should keep these words in mind that inner beauty is more important than outer beauty.

Air Pollution Essays - Air Pollution, Smog, Particulates, Pollution

Air Pollution Essays - Air Pollution, Smog, Particulates, Pollution Air Pollution Air pollution Introduction With the great concern surrounding the destruction of the earths atmosphere due to air pollution, the immediate and direct harm caused to the human body is often over shadowed. While many are aware that our careless use of hazardous chemicals and fossil fuels may leave the planet uninhabitable in the future, most over look the fact that they are also cause real damage to our bodies at this moment. Such pollutants cause damage to our respiratory system, leading to the fluctuation of the life span of an individual depending on a number of conditions. Amongst these conditions are the individuals specific geographic location, age, and life style. This paper is structured as a series of relevant questions and answers to report on the description of these pollutants there affects on our bodies. What are the pollutants? And how do they affect our bodies? In order to understand how air pollution affects our body, you must under stand exactly what this pollution is. The pollutants that harm our respiratory system are known as particulates. Particulates are the small solid particles that you can see through a ray of sunlight. They are products of incomplete combustion in engines (example: automobile engines), road dust, and wood smoke. Billions of tons of coal and oil are consumed around the world every year. When these fuels burn they produce smoke and other by-products into the atmosphere. Although wind and rain occasionally wash away the smoke given off by power plants and automobiles, much still remains. Particulate matter (soot, ash, and other solids), usually consist of unburned hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, various nitrogen oxides, ozone, and lead. These compounds undergo a series of chemical reactions in the presence of sunlight, the result is smog (a term used to describe a noxious mixture of fog and smoke) The smog in this photograph of Beijing, China is so dense that you can barely see the mountains The process by which these pollutants harm our bodies begins by simply taking a breath. Particulates are present every where, in some areas they are as dense as 100,000 per milliliter of air. The damage begins when the particulates are inhaled into the small air sacs of our lungs called alveoli. With densities such as 100,000 per milliliter a single alveolus may receive 1,500 particulates per day. These particulates cause the inflammation of the alveoli. The inflammation causes the body to produce agents in the blood that in crease clotting ability, which leads to the decreased functionality of the cardiovascular system, resulting in diseases and increased mortality. In the blood, carbon monoxide interferes with the supply of oxygen to all tissues and organs, including the brain and heart. Particulates accumulate on the mucous linings of the airways and lungs and impair their functioning. Continued exposure to particulates damages the lungs and increases an individual's chances of developing such conditions as chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Inside the alveoli of the lungs, particulate air pollution irritates and inflames them. While you may see pollutants such as particulates, other harmful ones are not visible. Amongst the most dangerous to our health are Carbon Monoxide, Nitrogen Oxides, Sulfur dioxide, and Ozone. If you have ever been in an enclosed parking garage or a tunnel and felt dizzy or light-headed then you have felt the effect of carbon monoxide(CO). This odorless, colorless, but poisonous gas is produced by the incomplete burning of fossil fuels, like gasoline or diesel fuel. Carbon Monoxide comes from cars, trucks, gas furnaces and stoves, and some industrial processes. CO is also a toxin in cigarettes. Carbon Monoxide combines with hemoglobin in the red blood cells, so body cells and tissues cannot get the oxygen they need. Carbon Monoxide attacks the immune system, especially affecting anyone with heart disease, anemia, and emphysema and other lung diseases. Even when at low concentrations CO affects mental function, vision, and alertness. Nitrogen Oxide is another pollutant that has been nicknamed a jet-age pollutant because it is only apparent in highly advanced countries. Sources of this are fuel plant, cars, and trucks. At lower concentrations nitrogen oxides are a light brown gas. In high concentrations they are major sources of haze and smog. They also combine with other compounds

Solution Definition in Chemistry

Solution Definition in Chemistry A solution is a homogeneous mixture of two or more substances. A solution may exist in any phase. A solution consists of a solute and a solvent. The solute is the substance that is dissolved in the solvent. The amount of solute that can be dissolved in solvent is called its solubility. For example, in a saline solution, salt is the solute dissolved in water as the solvent. For solutions with components in the same phase, the substances present in lower concentration are solutes, while the substance present in highest abundance is the solvent. Using air as an example, oxygen and carbon dioxide gases are solutes, while nitrogen gas is the solvent. Characteristics of a Solution A chemical solution exhibits several properties: A solution consists of a homogeneous mixture.A solution is composed of one phase (e.g., solid, liquid, gas).Particles in a solution are not visible to the naked eye.A solution does not scatter a light beam.Components of a solution cannot be separated using simple mechanical filtration. Solution Examples Any two substances which can be evenly mixed may form a solution. Even though materials of different phases may combine to form a solution, the end result always exists of a single phase. An example of a solid solution is brass. An example of a liquid solution is aqueous hydrochloric acid (HCl in water). An example of a gaseous solution is air. Solution Type Example gas-gas air gas-liquid carbon dioxide in soda gas-solid hydrogen gas in palladium metal liquid-liquid gasoline solid-liquid sugar in water liquid-solid mercury dental amalgam solid-solid sterling silver
